Press 'happy with guillotine'

Guillotines A New Jersey printing press has described how it is pleased with the functionality of its new guillotine.

Bob Martin, Neil Warner and Andy White - partners at Trivium Press - recently purchased a variety of postpress office equipment, including a guillotine, from Heidelberg.

In total, the firm bought a Prosetter P102 violet platesetter, a remarketed Speedmaster SM 102 four-colour perfector and a 45-inch POLAR 115 guillotine.

Mr Martin explained that the purchase of the guillotine and other office supplies was made in an effort to cut costs and centralise printing.

"We had been outsourcing the printing of our magazines at an incredible cost and thought that paying ourselves would be a better idea," he remarked.

He commented that the guillotine "makes quick, precise work of cutting", while the platesetter "runs plates accurately and fast, yielding very little waste".

The office machines are used by the press to print magazines, brochures and postcards for a range of local and regional periodicals.

In addition to guillotines, Heidelberg manufactures a variety of prepress, press and post-press office equipment.

The firm has around 18,000 employees in 170 countries worldwide.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office machines.
