Office machines 'very important' for finance professionals
15/11/2007 17:01
Up-to-date office equipment is an important asset for finance professionals, it has been suggested. Research by office supplies manufacturer Lexmark International revealed that banking and financial service professionals seek to capitalise on the benefits of digital technology in office machines more so compared to other sectors of the business industry. Some 81 per cent of respondents to the survey agreed that printing was an important part of their business, while digital tasks such as scanning to e-mail and scanning to file were rated as "very important" by over half of office equipment users. Finance professionals place a higher emphasis on hard copy documents and multifunction technology (MFP), which can provide a solution by incorporating such office products into one device, said Marty Canning, president of Lexmark International's printing solutions and service division. MFP platforms can save time and output from office supplies, he noted, in addition to possible savings on printer cartridges. "LDSS (Lexmark Document Solutions Suite) can help banks reduce a typical nine-step, five-day loan application process to a simple four-step electronic solution that can be completed in less than one hour," Mr Canning claimed. Recent research by the office machines provider found that the majority of health care professionals rely on the speed of black and white printing where as smaller businesses are more inclined to use colour printer cartridges.
