Networking office machines 'can save money'
28/11/2007 17:10
Small businesses could make substantial cost savings through better networking of their office equipment, it is claimed. Incorporating additional entrepreneurs into a small firm's office equipment network could also help build loyalty and increased visibility, according to Lexmark. Linking up office machines can help businesses cut the cost of printer cartridges, whether the printers use laser or inkjet cartridges, Lexmark added. Wireless printers feature among the office equipment provided by Lexmark that can be networked via a router or server. The office equipment supplier's E250dn laser printer includes networking capabilities and offers speeds of up to 30 pages a minute, while its X9350 wireless office all-in-one printer also includes automatic double-sided printing, which many help reduce a business' paper budget. One printer can be shared across multiple workstations through networking, said Marty Canning, vice president of Lexmark. "This helps cut down on costs associated with purchasing and servicing multiple machines, allowing small businesses to streamline processes and increase productivity," he added.
Lexmark produces a wide range of office machines.
