HP looks to be energy star
16/03/2007 13:46
Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced that it has developed a range of office equipment that meets new Energy Star 4.0 requirements.
Energy Star 4.0 is a new energy-efficiency rating brought into law by the America Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
And HP has claimed that its new products are the first that will operate with superb energy-efficiency and do their part to protect the environment.
These PCs will work with 80 per cent energy-efficiency according to HP and are even more environmentally-friendly when coupled with other HP equipment.
"Our expanding family of energy-efficient desktop PCs not only help business customers meet upcoming regulatory requirements, but also reduce the impact on the environment by meeting the EPA's most stringent Energy Star requirements yet,” said Jeri Callaway, a senior vice president with HP.
"HP is taking an industry leadership role in the delivery of energy-efficient desktops as we focus on delivering specialised product design tailored to meet the needs of businesses today."
Power-saving technologies will also save businesses money on their energy bills, as well as reducing emissions and helping the environment.
