Epson launches next generation print head
29/03/2007 17:12
Print specialist Epson has claimed to have developed an inkjet print head with the world's highest degree of distortion.
The next generation piezo print head is based on Epson's original micro piezo technology and will offer an incredible 360 dots per inch.
It uses thin-film technology which helps it achieve high levels of distortion, is ideal for small print loads and is supposedly gentler on the environment.
Epson, which supplies offices across Britain will a variety of printer supplies, will begin mass production of the new print head next month.
It claims the new developments mean it will be able to produce faster inkjet technology than ever before.
"Inkjet systems are currently attracting a great deal of attention as they are being put to use more and more frequently in printing and manufacturing processes," said Epson.
But Epson faces stiff competition from other leading print specialists to offer the fastest and best quality printing available.
Silverbrook research is set to let its new Memjet printer loose on the world, offering ultra speedy prints of up to two pages per second.
