Epson lauded for printer cartridges packaging
19/11/2007 16:49
Office equipment manufacturer Epson has been recognised for its environmentally-friendly packaging for printer cartridges, the company has announced.
It was given a WorldStar Award in the category of electronics in honour of its globally standardised packaging for printer cartridges.
The products in question, which are intended to be used in large-format office machines, are packaged in 100 per cent recycled paper boxes that are printed in black-and-white. Additionally, one standard design is used for all types of inkjet cartridges - a factor which is meant to save money as well as be kind to the environment.
Previously, the office equipment firm used white boxes which were printed in full colour and designed to reflect the type of printer cartridges they contained.
The WorldStar Awards are sponsored by the World Packaging Organisation and this year's winners were chosen by judges who met in Athens in October.
Previously, Epson's printer cartridges packaging had received an award from the Japan Packaging Contest 2007, which made it eligible to compete on a worldwide level.
In other Epson news, the firm has just announced the winners of its 2007 Colour Imaging Contest.
