Businesses 'should assess how they use office machines'
20/11/2007 16:40
Organisations can make better use of their office equipment by examining how and why they use office machines in the workplace, it has been suggested.
Lexmark UK said that "simple steps" involving office equipment could help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) save money. These include setting the office machines to print on both sides of the paper and taking advantage of multiple functionalities.
"Smarter printing through the most suitable channel for a company's needs ensure better workflow processes, cost effectiveness and service for its customers," the company stated, adding that smaller firms should work with "vendors who cater for SMBs".
Another way in which SMBs can cut costs is to select office equipment which meets their printing volume needs, Lexmark UK suggested.
"An inkjet tends to be cost-effective for a low volume of printing, whereas a laser printer is generally more cost-effective if you use the device a lot," the organisation said.
That analysis, combined with taking stock of how many printer cartridges are used within a certain period of time, can be "an effective method" of gauging how the office equipment suits a firm's needs, according to Lexmark UK.
In addition to office machines, Lexmark manufactures a variety of office products, including inkjet cartridges and other printer supplies.
At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office machines.
