BenQ launches new slimline monitor

Office equipment BenQ has unveiled its latest offering in its line of 19-inch monitors, the slimline FP93GP model.

The monitor is set in a 4:2 aspect ratio and comes in an attractive trim silver design, so offices that like to keep up appearances may want to give this one a second look.

BenQ is the joint shirt sponsor of the Real Madrid football team and this product shares similar qualities to the Spanish soccer giants.

It looks fantastic, but there is more to it than just being aesthetically pleasing, with impressive specifications including 1,200:1 contrast ratio, both VGA and DVI inputs, a 178 degree viewing angle, and 280 x 1,024 resolution.

With the price expected to be around £180, which is pretty expensive for a 19-inch screen, it also appears to be valued in a similar bracket to the galacticos.

And BenQ will be hoping their new monitors can challenge for a place in the PC World top 100 products of 2007.

The highest computer screen entry in last year's top 100 was NEC's MutiSync LCD 2180WG-LED flat panel monitors.

A PC World review said: "My screen favourite isn't Brad Pitt or Naveen Andrews. It's the NEC's MutiSync LCD 2180WG-LED, the first LCD monitors we've seen that uses LED backlighting."
